Can someone please provide a site that teaches how to read piano sheet music?

I would like to know the basics about reading it and would rather not get a tutor unless its absolutely necessary. Can someone please provide a site that teaches how to read piano sheet music?

Make you some flash cards from index cards.

Drawing the clef and placing the notes individually, one on each card, on one line, or in one space, is good

exercise. Then you can practice recognizing them

rapidly which is what you are going to need to do.

Throw in some leger lines if you want.
You can download a complete chord chart at

There are some videos on reading music at http://www.expertvillage.com/video-serie鈥?/a>

I had a tutor when I learned how to play, so I don't know how well this works.
www.musictheory.net is a good website for notation reading. It helped me read and know the elements of music.
