How do you transpose piano sheet music to flute sheet music?

I would like to know because I play songs that are meant for piano because i cannot get any songd that are for flute, such as a Jonas Brothers song. When I do play it, it doesn't sound the way it should. I have moved it up an octave, but alas...nothing.

Any advice? How do you transpose piano sheet music to flute sheet music?
It should be the same, and the top line of piano is in treble cleft, like flute. But if you use piano accompaniment music, that won't work because it won't have the melody on it. But a lot of times, contemporary songs (such as the JoBros' music) doesn't sound the same on any instrument other than how they perform it. It's only a close interpretation of the music and so it won't sound the same no matter what you do to it!How do you transpose piano sheet music to flute sheet music?
It should be the same. They're both concert pitched, it doesn't need to be transposed.

The only thing is that you might be losing a lot because you can only play one note at a time while piano music (or a Jonas Brothers song w/ the original instruments) is meant to be played using multiple notes and chords.
Also, if the song melodies go lower than middle C, you have to play the melodies one octave higher than what the sheet music says, or transpose. With flute you can only play the basic melody, not any chords though.
The flute is a C instrument. You should be able to play straight off the piano music.
